Olive is the Wonder Awhile guinea pig. She lives at Wonder Awhile throughout the school year, welcoming the students as they arrive each day with her “hello squeaks” and gladly accepting snacks the children bring her.

Olive enjoys:

Cucumber peelings
Carrots
Apple slices
Spinach leaves
Celery leaves (not stalks)
Kale
Mustard greens
Turnip greens
And the occasional dandelion flower

She should never eat:
Potatoes
Green beans
Celery stalks
Lettuce (any kind, but especially iceberg)
Rhubarb or rhubarb leaves
Tomato leaves

Her main staple foods are guinea pig pellets and lots of Timothy Hay.

Olive also is available to spend holidays and summers with the families of Wonder Awhile students, so if you are interested in fostering Olive over a vacation, please speak with one of the teachers or send your request to our director, Linda Findlay.
