Thematic units in the fall and Holiday season: Making Friends, Starting School, Vegetables and Harvest, Apples, Pumpkins, Fire Safety, Halloween safety, Native Americans with an emphasis on Maine natives, their gifts to us and their symbols, Thanksgiving, Holiday celebrations, Giving, and Winter.

Thematic units after New Year: Getting dressed for winter weather, animals in winter, dinosaurs,  the Heart Treasure Chest Program (health and nutrition.)

Thematic units in the spring and early summer: Insects, wind (pinwheels, tornado bottles, storm bottles, wave bottles, rainbows, straw paintings, helicopters and other flying machines, kites), space, Easter (with a visit to the residents in the two long term care facilities in town).
