get out of winter clothing, taking care of clothes, put on shoes
(teaching assist, often spending time teaching “shoe
tying”) sign parents up for snacks, communicate with parents

CIRCLE
TIME on the blue rug in Loft Room with Director (other teachers set
out day’s structured activity in Middle Room, perhaps making
phone calls to inquire about absent children).

-Review who is on the Job Chart
-Sharing time with children
-Discussion of “plans” for day’s activities with

| 9:00-10:00 a.m. |
FREE
PLAY – Children are encouraged to play in either the Block
Room or Loft Room – making choices of their own. Also, they
take turns coming to the Middle Room to participate in the
“structured activity” (could be a craft, cooking project,
science experiment, painting, clay dough, etc.). Occasionally a
teacher will also use the downstairs play area for large motor
play. Six to eight children at a time take turns downstairs for
15-20 minute periods with teacher supervision. |

PICK
UP TIME – All participate in “returning rooms to
normal”, then wash up. |
| 10:15-10:30 a.m. |
LIBRARY
TIME – Children on the job chart set the tables for snacks
while the rest sit on the blue rug and look at books. STORY
TIME – Director shares a story either by reading a book,
telling a story with props (flannel board, puppets, stuffed animals),
listening to a tape, or perhaps even using skits. |
